Mary’s Lamb

My uncle sent this to me and I thought that it was neat. It really gives you some food for thought. Enjoy!

Mary’s Lamb

Think carefully about what you will be reading…
Mary, had a little Lamb,
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
T’wasn’t even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have The Lamb at school…

And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring The Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years..
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That’s in our schools today?
Let’s let The Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!

It is said that 86% of the World’s people believe in God..
Why don’t we just tell the other 14% to be quiet and sit down?

I am a substitute teacher in the public schools. It amazes me how much that this poem is true. Every year we practice lock downs and safety procedures to keep our classrooms safe. But so many times if these children, that are pointing the guns, would know the heavenly Father, I believe that He would take away the emptiness or loneliness that causes these kids to shoot others.
